FILMSTERS Academy, celebrating its 25th year, is a summer program that offers young people an opportunity to make short films. The process is intensive, hands-on, and experiential where kids get skilled in all aspects of filmmaking.
With an 85% return rate, many of FILMSTERS Academy students have attended for four or more years. Some of these students are now professionals in the film and television industry, while many more are attending top film programs across America.
Over sixty students, thirty instructors, and a dozen industry professionals gather each summer to participate in this immersion program for students aged 11-18.
The three levels of instruction include: Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. No matter what level, students will learn elements of pitching, writing, directing, producing, shooting, acting in and editing these films.
Camp occurs each year during the first two weeks of August. The location is the Key School campus in Annapolis, Maryland (25 miles from Baltimore and 45 miles from Washington).
Registration opens in February. Limited enrollment. All final payments due by July 1.
